Come to Ramsey by river!
Next stop: Ramsey!
A new way to discover Ramsey is by river! New visitor moorings at Ramsey High Lode are now open giving boaters direct access to the Great Whyte. Step off your boat and you are just a short stroll from our independent shops, artisan and street markets, monthly dine out, and our heritage sites.
Permanent Visitor Moorings
The 120m of permanent visitor moorings are owned and maintained by the Middle Level Commission and are part of a partnership agreement between Accent Housing Ltd, Ramsey Town Council and the Middle Level Commissioners. The scheme was funded by the housing association as part of its commitment relating to building new homes on Stocking Fen Road. The project is part of a wider plan by the Middle Level Commission to improve navigation for all users including river cruisers and narrowboats.
Navigate the Middle Level
The Middle Level Navigations offer around 100 miles of navigable waterways with only 3 locks, linking the rivers Nene and Great Ouse. Via the Middle Level, boaters can gain access to the Rivers Great Ouse, Little Ouse, Lark and Cam. Places of interest to visit include Ely, St Ives, Huntingdon, Cambridge, St Neots, Bedford and now Ramsey!

Tried and Tested by the MLWC!
The new Ramsey moorings received an enthusiastic thumbs up from the crews of 8 Middle Level Watermens Club narrowboats who moored there overnight during their 2022 Easter weekend cruise. Credit to the MLC for their write-up and MLWC for photographs.
