East of England Tourism Awards 2021-2022 Finalists

Tourism Awards 2021-2022

We were delighted to be nominated as finalists in the East of England Tourism Awards 2022 in the category of Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism.

This award recognises tourism businesses committed to being sustainable, responsible and ethical in how they operate and interact with customers, the wider community and the environment.

The Promoting Ramsey project started in 2015 with the aim of creating a sustainable and resilient offer for heritage, business and tourism in Ramsey. A new brand was developed, Discover Ramsey, supporting local tourism, promoting community events and providing a heritage package for locals and tourists in Cambridgeshire.

Judges said, “There are some fantastic initiatives with a number of volunteers working really hard to make Ramsey an attractive and exciting tourist destination.”

There were 68 finalists overall with 3 from Cambridgeshire, 18 from Essex, 19 from Suffolk and 28 from Norfolk. Seeing the high calibre of companies entering the awards made us very proud, as a small charity, to be one of the 3 finalists from Cambridgeshire and to be part of the conversation around tourism and the tourism offer in the East of England.
