Welcome to The Pavilion!
Introducing The Pavilion, Ramsey’s newest community building!
What is the point of The Pavilion?
First and foremost, The Pavilion is the home of Ramsey Cricket Club, but this new building opened in 2022 as joint partnership between the Cricket Club and Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust, is also a community centre, a place to get together and to entertain, from toddler groups to encourage social behaviour at a young age, to senior get togethers. The atmosphere in these sessions is truly special and it is what Ramsey is all about. The building can be booked out for use by anyone and is a community hub. For many kids, attending the youth clubs BOSH and CRUNCH, Toddler Time, or the adult group SPARKS, it is a place to see friends and have fun. For parents it is a place to know that your children are safe and enjoying themselves, and for pensioners it is a place to meet up and chat with some familiar faces. It means a lot, and not just to the cricket team, but to all of Ramsey, the amazing staff there put in so many hours to ensure that it is clean, tidy and ready for fun.
Why was the cricket pavilion redeveloped? And how does it benefit the people of Ramsey?
Well first of all, local people got to have a say in its design, so it could better fit their local needs, and now it is not only just a cricket pavilion, but a place to come together and have fun! It is now the venue for many events being held in Ramsey and can be booked out for anyone’s personal needs.
When can I book out The Pavilion and what can I use it for?
There are some limitations on this as obviously there are regular standing events every week that take up a certain amount of time, from cricket practices to children’s clubs, but the times are listed on the website along with a planner of what else has been additionally booked in. But The Pavilion can be a venue for anything, so far there has been a wedding, a baptism and a wake, and this modern building can be decorated and personalised to suit, with the lovely view across the cricket field.
How do I book The Pavilion?
The Pavilion has a dedicated Facebook page which you can access here.
