Lady Chapel
Originally part of the 10th century monastery
This is one of Ramsey’s unexpected treasures. Abbey House was built by the Cromwells on the site of the old monastery, using stone from the demolished abbey and hidden in the basement are rooms known locally as the Lady Chapel. Although some now think it could have been the monk’s refectory. Decide for yourself!
Abbey House, including the Lady Chapel, is now under private ownership and access is not yet confirmed.
